TŘČ, digital Art by TMŠ

Sculptor TŘČ collects painting from the last 200 years. Paintings that circulate on E-Bay and are considered worthless according to the logics of the art market are his material.

He creates new conditions for them by adding his own artistic interventions to their form and color. The subjects portrait / landscape / still life are thus cast into a contemporary form.

The material that TŘČ adds creates its own, new space for the works. On the one hand, they become less clearly recognizable, and on the other hand, they experience a new way of viewing through the intervention. By transforming the view of the individual work, the view of art history is also transformed.

In a second element of the exhibition, this process of pouring is translated into a digital film. Together with media artist TMŠ, the film was created from the most famous exhibition hall of Frankfurt's Städel Museum: Tischbein's large Goethe portrait seems to sink into a resinous material and reappear.
